[nabentre] Grants or assistance to send our blind employee to the Louisiana School for the blind?

I am not an expert, but I have heard that DOR can pay a person's wage while
they are in training. They should be able to open a DOR case most easily
under a job retention plan. Job retention plans are for people in his exact
position. Someone who has recently closed their case and need training to
retain their job.

Please contact me for more information that I may be able to help with.

Subject: [nabentre] Grants or assistance to send our blind employee to the
Louisiana School for the blind?

Hello,
We hired a blind employee and as they started working, they realized that
doing everything with vision gave them huge headaches, so medically they
need to relearn everything without vision.
I am too busy to teach them the skills they need to know myself, so we are
looking to send them to the Louisiana School of the blind to do the NFB
program down there this summer.

We are going to see if they can reopen DOR to pay for the school itself, but
is there any way that we can keep paying our employee while they are
learning these skills? They have a family and cutting their pay would make
it impossible for them to go to the program.

I'm not sure how long the program lasts, but our employee gets around $3500
a month.
Does anyone know of any kind of tax incentive or grants we can get to help,
if not completely, cover this cost?
Thanks,
