[nabs-l] Conference call- Election discussion forum

Joseph,

I think your messages would be more easily perceived as attempting to rip
the organization apart than Antonio's post or any other message that has
crossed the list on the subject. If I did not know you better, it would
seem as though you are trying to hide your disdain for the board behind
claims to rectify a problem you paint in distinctly negative tones. Were
the elections carried out poorly? Yes. Does it reflect bad on the
organization? On the contrary, it reflects poorly on the president at the
time. In the grand scheme of things, it is a problem confined to one
evening, one small segment of the overall meeting, and I think Arielle has
gone above and beyond what was necessary to publicly apologize for the
incident. The fact that the board is setting aside time to allow people to
discuss the issue at all says to me that they are genuinely trying to make
things right. If you are concerned about the organization's reputation, do
not claim to care about that reputation and simultaneously slap the
organization while you're doing it. Such behavior makes you look like a
loose canon hypocrite, and I personally have much higher expectations of
you. We have never minced words when debating one on one in times past, a
large part of my respect for you, so in the interest of that ongoing trend
of candor, either put out your plan so that someone can speak for it on your
behalf or keep your thoughts away from the public forum that is primarily
responsible for the organization's reputation you so passionately want to
protect. You are a very intelligent, thoughtful member, but do not sit
there and advance the notion that the world will freeze if the board cannot
accommodate your personal schedule when so many others are going to try to
make it.

Respectfully,

Joe Orozco

Joe,

You need to read my message again. My issue is not with the
board, it is with Antonio. I've been TRYING TO STOP people who
have the stated intention of ripping this organization apart.

I have received little or no support from the organization, who
has largely blamed me for the controversy's existence. You
people need to figure out who does and who doesn't have the
best interest of this organization in mind.

The time was TENTATIVELY SET because there was supposed to be
discussion here on the list as to whether or not it could or
should be moved to accommodate anyone who cannot make it at
that time. But it seems that this list would rather take
personal swipes at the board, at me, and at anyone who actually
wants a solution. Either that or just ignore the whole thing.

Ever increasingly disappointed,
Joseph
