Jessica,

Welcome! I'm sure you'll find that the NFB is one awesome organization of
blind individuals. I just felt like I should say that there is NO NFB bylaw
or rule that says you can't be an official member of both organizations. I
know several individuals who are. What is usually meant by "you can't be a
member of both" is that the two organizations have very opposite views, and
it's difficult to be in favor of both at once, even if you may be for some
of what the NFB is all about and against some. I do hope you find that the
NFB meets your needs and makes you feel at home. It did for me.
