Seminar: Service Animals in Places of Public Accommodation

What are the rights and responsibilities of service animal
users in places of public accommodation? Are there circumstances under
which a business is allowed to refuse access to an individual
accompanied by a service animal? What is the best way to resolve
issues that arise because of the choice to use a service animal? What
remedies are available to those who feel their civil rights have been
violated? These questions and many more will be answered in an
upcoming special teleseminar.

The National Association of Guide Dog Users (NAGDU), a
strong and proud division of the National Federation of the Blind,
will host "Service Animals in Places of public Accommodation" on
Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 8:00 pm eastern Daylight Time (7:00 pm
Central; 6:00 pm Mountain; and 5:00 pm Pacific). This teleseminar is
absolutely free; however reservations are required. Participation is
limited and is on a first come first served basis.

Who Should Attend?

This teleseminar is designed to teach service animal users
how to best protect their rights and empower them to be effective
self-advocates. It is also meant to help owners and operators of
public accommodations understand their rights and responsibilities
under the law. The goal of this workshop is to encourage proactive
solutions to the challenges faced by service animal users through
effective education and accurate information. In order to reserve your
space in this teleseminar, please send your name, city & state, and
your email address to

"The real problem of blindness is not the loss of eyesight. The real
problem is the misunderstanding and lack of education that exists. If
a blind person has the proper training and opportunity, blindness can
be reduced to a mere physical nuissence." -- Kenneth Jernigan
