Hello Nabs,

Cricket, thank you so much for sharing this with us all.
I wanted to give you my perspective as I was one of the ones who was
able to attend Harley's service today.

The service was so incredibly touching. We honored who Harley was and
there were so many people in attendance. He was an incredibly
passionate, intelligent, loving, caring, humorous, respectful,
ressiliant, full of courage and life. I knew Harley for over 3 years
and had served with him for two years on the Board of Directors of the
Texas Association of Blind Students. We all laughed, cried, reflected,
and came together to show our respect and love for Harley and the
impact he hat on our lives. Everytime he came into the room, he lit up
everyone with his presence and when it came to his cancer, he never
showed trepidation or once complained about it.

Although he is no longer with us physically, his spirit will live in
so many of us eternally and his love that he gave to the world will
forever be immortal.

Warm regards,

Jonathan Franks BSW
Treasurer
Texas Association of Blind Students

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create
obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life
you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
