I think that some of this moving out of the way has to do with whoever
the dominant person is. I've heard that if you step around the dog,
then that can give them the impression that they're in charge. If
however you move the dog out of the way or prompt them to get up, then
you're communicating that you're in charge. Perhaps this plays into
your dog not moving out of your husband's way.
