[nagdu] PUBLIC ACCESS ISUES

Hi Tami,
I don't know if Morris Frank pulled that particular prank but it seemed like
one he'd pull. One he really did do was described in the book,"Love In The
Lead: The 50 Year Miricle Of The Seeing Eye" by Peter Putnam. Morris and a
bunch of his friends went out to a diner and the manager said that he
couldn't bring the dog in. This was baci in the 1930s. The group went
around and was asked if they objected to the dog there. Everyone said that
they had no problem with the dog leaving the only one who did have a problem
with the dog was the manager! So, the boys all picked up the manager and
carried him outside and left him bewildered at the front door! I don't
think Morris had any more problem at that diner in the future!

If you haven't read the book, do read it - it puts our access situations
into perspective. It also show us that we have Morris and the guide dog
users after him blazing the trail for us today.

Morris Frank was a crusty old guy who had the perfect personality for the
trail blazing job he had. I knew some people who knew him and they said
that he cussed like a sailor and you either loved him or hated him - no in
between. But, thank God for him!!!
