[nagdu] convention 2010 ???

Hello Roxy and listers,

Have you ever tried the FM Loop like we're talking about? I'm puzzled
that I could carry on a conversation with a hearing impaired person without
any difficulty provided I stood close to them so I don't understand why you
wouldn't be able to take advantage of our hearing enhancement service.
Something that could help would be to sit down close to the front in general
sessions. I too use hearing aids. They're forever going out on me.
Frustrated I moved to the front of the room to hear better. That's all it
took. Later I found out that others, including those with normal hearing did
the same as the p.a. system wasn't working correctly.

Although you may not be able to set your plans in stone it still wouldn't
hurt to at least have tentative plans in place for interpreter service
should you be able to attend next years convention. They can always be
canceled if you're unable to come.

Cindy, I cannot benefit from an FM loop which is the name of the radio
you spoke of.

I usually go to these conferences for my job and don't know I'll be
attending until April or May. I also have an older dog with some
pretty serious health issues and don't feel comfortable making plans
more than two or three months ahead.

Volunteers are hard to find because interpreting for Deafblind people
in this kind of situation requires a very high skill level.
I am going to contact the National Office and see what they say,
because I'd be interested.
