Julie,
Well, there have been a few times I've wished for something more mellow and
less obstinate.than my curly girl. But only for about a second! /grin/ So
long as she behaves and rests quietly under my char or table when she's
supposed to, it's all good. Otherwise, I love the zippy, active guiding and
having to hop to it to keep up, as well as all the out-of-harness antics.
/lol/ Too much fun.
I have a couple of friends who are strollers, though, and I guess Mitzi and
me scare the snot out of them. /grin/ They're certain she's going to do me
in, dragging me along like that. Every few months, I have to calm their
fears and remind them that guide dog is *supposed* to pull into the harness.
Funny. I guess they're too busy worry that Mitzi's going to run me into
things, haul me off a curb and then drag me into a busy interesection, that
they don't notice that none of these things actually happen. /smile/

You know , I really love my high energy, wild and crazy dog! I love when he
comes out of his crate in the morning and gallops down the hall ending in a
triumphant thwump in the living room. I love that he's so happy his whole
body wags. I love that he can wake up from a sound sleep and immediately be
ready for whatever adventure comes our way. I love that he never gets
tired. I love his interest in everything. I love moving so fast with him
that I can feel the wind on my face, even on a calm day.
I'm not sure if I could ever be truly happy with a mellow, low energy dog.
