Dals are about the size of a smallish lab, 50-60 lbs and 20-23 
inches at the shoulder.  As for the "right temperament" what is 
"right" for me may not be "right" for you and the other way 
around.
They are high-energy dogs and need work to do.  They come with 
their own set of unique health issues.  However that is no 
different than a Poodle or Doberman or GSD.
