[nagdu] Motorized wheelchairs and scooters

Julie,

Our bane is Costco. /lol/ And I thought learning to trust Mitzi's traffic
training was hard! Whenever we go, I let DD do the shopping and take off
with Mitzi for random travel around the store. I get to practice
orientation and route recognition while dancing the dance with Mitzi to keep
from getting mowed down, run over, stepped on, mauled by children... /lol/
Now, that's a zoo! Because of all the sounds and randomness, it's tough to
make my self let go and follow the dog, but once I do, it turns out to be a
whole lot of exhausting fun. We usually find the door and spend some time
outside catching our breath, then find the door again to go back in and find
DD. /lol/ Mitzi adores the find command, and I get to pay attention to
just walking with her through the bustle.

My funny dog has learned to wrangle a human somehow, too. If I actually
want to find and look at something, all I have to do is mutter under my
breath to myself about how it's time to suck it up and wrangle a human, and
she goes into take charge mode and takes me to a clerk. Very cool, that,
and really convenient, but kinda scary. What does go on in that curly
little brain of hers?

Brenda,

the dog will back up or move appropriately to keep you from contacting any
moving object including wheelchairs, shopping carts, bicyclists,
skateboarders, and the like.

I have always felt like people should take some responsibility for where
they are and what is in their intended path. Saying "excuse me" would be
nice, but if you've ever shopped at Wal-Mart on Saturday morning...well,
I've learned a new appreciation of Monty's quick reflexes. *smile*

HTH
Julie
