[nagdu] extremely basic guide dog questions...

Gary,
So many sighted people are lazy and just leave their dog's poop arouond. I
know some guide dog users who are just as lazy!

What I hate is that people always blame us even though the poop in question
clearly came from a Chihuahua or other toy sized dog! Also, most people
don't have their dog go on concrete off the curb - they have the dog use the
grass and then leave the mess to get ground up in the lawnmower - YUCK!
Landon curbs as much as I can. He finds crap to eat in lawns.

At our blind center, there is a trail leading up out of the canyon where
people come up with their dogs off leash. the dogs smell where our guide
dogs go in our relief area and then leave their own pile there. The dog's
owner fails to pick it up and we blind folks step in it and track it into
our center. People also leave their cigarette butts in our relief area as
well where our dogs can get them. They're not even supposed to smoke there
sinse our center is in city park land and they forbid smoking there.
Smokers have to go out by the road.

Lyn and Landon
