Hi, all,
Figured I'd update everyone on what's taking further place with the service
dog discrimination case here at Sunset Park Apartments.
I did get a letter from VOA (Volunteers of America's) attorney, stating that
yes, I'd have to be granted an accomodation to have a new service dog to
take the place of Odie when he was my guide.
As for my husband Dale, he's working on trying to get necessary
documentation to provide and proove that Odie is his medical alert service
dog.
Once I get the next dog, I will be able to focus on the new partnership and
Odie moves further up the steps of his new career to be with his daddy.
Dale is already having a representative from Freedom Service Dogs write a
statement on his behalf and will be going down to the FEDEX office to have a
picture taken of him and Odie along with getting everything laminated.
He still is waiting to get a letter from our primary care position.
Regardless, I'm still going to work work with the Colorado Cross Disability
Coalision mainly to make HUD rethink on putting the service dog exception
back under policies.
I did post about the new pet rules document a while back in previous
messages and another problem with the document that I see and it doesn't
make any sense here is this.
It doesn't have all the call or section numbers and someone easily took
parts of Hud's documentation on the internet and just pieced it all together
and yes, it is falsified.
If it was a real document, HUD'S logo, call and section number would have
been in there.
In the new so-called pet policy, dogs over 30 pounds are not permitted as a
pet unless a medical reasoning accomodation is given.
Factor: We've had residents here in the apartment complex
who have had large dogs in the past and no one said a thing about it and
now, there's a big uproar on all of that.
What matters to me is that I've accomplished another part in this case and
I'll be taking the letter down to the Colorado Cross Disability Coalision
so they can make a copy of it too.
Happily, I'm moving another inch upward in myy accomplishment.
*Smiles*
Bibi and Odie
the happy spirited bounty labra wolf
