Oh Boy.
How would you forget your cane skills once you've adapted yourself to your
new guide dog?
Doesn't make sense to me one bit.
I've been working guide dogs for eleven years off and on and have never
forgotten my cane skills.
Good thing I don't live with those people as I'd gladly stick them in their
place BIG TIME.
I do hope you can find a suitable place for you and the dog to live to avoid
all of that harassment.
To me, that's pure harassment.
As far as that three month old, her mother should be taking full
responsibility to keep an eye on what her kid is doing.
Offten too many kids are bratty due to the parents's neglegance.
They are the ones at fault if their kid turns out to be where they can't
handle him/her.
On Monday while Dale and I were visiting our friend Alisha Robbinson and her
daughter Hannah, some kid decided to become aggressive toward Hannah, all
because she didn't want anyone to touch her bracelet.
It was more because it was a special gift from her grandmother.
The kid instantly grabbed at her and broke the bracelet.
Hannah fell apart emotionally and thought that her grandmother would yell at
her for a broken bracelet.
Dale and I had to reassure her that her grandmother wouldn't do that since
she loves her granddaughter to death.
While Hannah was upset, Odie felt the need to do something to cheer her up
and that's what ended up happening.
I grew up around dogs off and on throughoutt my life time and my parents
told me that if the dog became mad and let me have it, that was my fault for
provoking him/her.
Those people are trying to shelter their kid and that is flat out rediculous
behavior, especially for a yungster.
In tat manner, individuals wonder why so many attacks happen or medical
injuries because once they are approached by a dog and they go to swing at
it, the dog is going to react in self-defense like any other animal would.
Chantel, don't let those people bully you around and if need be, stick them
in their place.
You aren't going to lose cane skills with having a guide dog.
Just my thoughts on this one.
