[nagdu] I need some advice/help

I think if the local authorities were involved the school would have to
prove that the dog is legally theirs. I don't think the police can
enter your home and take stuff out. That is a civil matter that has to
be decided through a lawsuit settled in court.

If she owns the dog and doesn't want to give him up, then she has every
legal right to keep him. I think her issue will be the emotional
struggle in dealing with the program, not the legal one.

I like the others suggestion of not having the dog at the house when the
program rep comes. I'd go one step further and leave the harness with a
note on the porch step and make plans to take the dog myself somewhere
else that day.

I hope it works out with the least amount of unpleasantness for your friend.
