Hi, all,
If you'd rather not read this, then feel free to press the delete key and move on.
Figured I'd give a quick update on the 9News reporter Kile Dyer.
She's out of the hospital and recovering at home.
I haven't sent her a message as of yet, but hope to do so soon.
My husband Dale rewatched the whole video from beginning to end and said another disturbing part was that the dog who bit the reporter wasn't on leash at all times from the bime owner came into the lobby until the incident happened.
He did tell me that the dog was fine in the beginning an hour prior while everyone interacted with him.
Toward the end of the interview was when everything happened suddenly.
If that dog simply would have been on a leash, gone through obedience classes and a good canine citizenship test upon being vaccinated, the case would not have been this serious.
Kile, Odie and I will keep you in our thoughts and prayers upon the hopes you'll make a speedy recovery.
I look back and am glad upon being thankful that I stuck with the initial daily routine training with Odie along with having him do a Good Canine Citizen test which he past with flying colors.
His certificate happily hangs on the wall inside of a picture frame from the day he did that test.
Odie also enjoys Dale and I interacting with him daily, hanging out on the floor or the large pillow top king sized matress on the bed.
He loves to snuggle up close to me and also loves my hands being on him and my left leg draped over him too which for him, it's a sense of security.
Today, he lie down on the bed near my feet enjoying the time up there with me and I enjoyed each minute of it too.
Every three years, I still get his vaccinations and Bordatela one renewed.
The Bordatela one has to be done every year but as far as the rabies, distemper and parbo, every three years.
I figure if I have to continuously see a doctor and take care of myself, then the same rules apply for the four-legged furry kid as well.
By law here in the state of Colorado despite that dog being over ten years of age or older, a rabies vaccine still as to be given.
I do feel sad that there are just some people who don't value their dogs as a member of the family where the dog isn left outtdoors or not exposed to socialization: mainly I see this with a lot of pet dogs.
I do listen to a lot of animal cops shows and what gets me is how dog owners will not bother to get the dog to a vet or get all the important things done to keep their dogs safe, happy and healthy along with making sure those in the general public will be safe around their pets.
I could be wrong here, but after coming across some dogs who continuously are anxious or get out of hand, that's the type of impression I feel directly.
Natalie and I are still going to plan the interview for Guide Dog 9 1 1, but we're going to hold off until everything has blown over upon making sure the 9News Studios will welcome Odie and Liam into their doors.
