I agree with you here Buddy.  I think some dogs can handle having more 
freedom and some dogs do better with stricter discipline, so it comes down 
to knowing your dog.  I think its ok to sign some email if it is 
appropriate, but I would never think of doing that on a professional level, 
and I don't really think anyone would.  However with the 4 dogs I have had 
they have free run of the apartment, we play a lot and when he needs to be 
disciplined he gets it.  My relationship with my dog is very important to 
both of us, and that is why we make a good working team.  I respect him and 
take care of his needs and he does the same for me.  I don't think you can 
ever go over board with affection between you and your dog.
