Julie,

Okay so curiosity killed the cat, so I need to ask. Why do you want a boxer?
What about the boxer, do you think would make a good guide? I am not asking
because I don't see the boxer as a good guide, but because I know nothing
about boxers. Educate away please.

Marsha

Subject: [nagdu] Boxer guides from Pilot

Does anyone on the list have a Boxer from Pilot? Does anyone know
anyone who does?

I really want a Boxer for my next guide and right now I'm not wanting to
owner train again. When I think of how much time and energy it takes to
owner train it makes me want to lie down with a cool cloth on my head.
Monty is only 4.5 and shows no signs of letting up anytime soon. Still
for my own peace of mind I need to have a plan or a direction or something.

To the best of my knowledge Pilot is the only place that is currently
training Boxers. TSE recently discontinued theirs and the program in MS
isn't up and running yet. Of course things could change in a few years
when I'm ready, but I'm a bit of an obsessive planner, please forgive
this bit of insanity! *smile*

Okay questions for the Pilot Boxer folks:
Do you know where the dogs come from...donations from a breeder, in
house breeding program, rescue, something else?
Does the health screening include Boxer specific issues, like that heart
problem I can't spell?
What is the energy level like of your Boxer? normal, high, insane...off
the chart
Does your Boxer have issues of guarding either you or it's territory
inappropriately?
How tall are the Boxers from Pilot typically?
Anything else I should know?

TIA
Julie
