Hello Kelly

Whatever works best for you do it. It's to keep you safe and your dog
safe as well.

When mother in law (85) visits us I tie down Leone so she doesn't jump
all over mums. Leone ahs never been one to steal food off the table
or even try. She sits about 10 feet away and jsut watches and drools
at the mouth while we eat but she is well behaved. I know of many
dogs who try to steal food off the countertops and table.

Blessings
