[nagdu] renting a car with Mason

Hi,

Like Robert I have rented several cars so long as I have a driver present.
Actually, once my driver was filling out the rental agreement as I stood at
the desk.  A non-observant agent next to the one working with my driver
asked if she could help me.  So, (you guessed it), I said I wanted to rent a
car.  We got through the entire application before she happened to see my
dog, Holland.  It sure was funny.  The agent laughed too, so it was a good
time had by all.

I have rented cars before.
The first time I did so, the car rental company had an issue with me,
because I did not have a license, but I was there with my driver, so as long
as someone had a valid drivers license they were fine, and they saw the dog
when I showed up, and there was never any discussion of nor has there been a
charge later on my credit card that was additional.
I believe, like Michael says, they can not legally do this.

Your guide dog is not a pet.  Although I have not heard of this issue before
I do not think they can charge legally just as in any other case where you
are being accompanied by a guide dog.

Hello all.  I am planning on going on a trip with some people from school,
and when the guy renting the car talked to the agency yesterday, they told
him that if Mason were to leave dog hair in the car, they would charge us an
extra $75.  I was wondering if this was legal for them to do since they are
allowing him in the car.  If anyone has any info on that type of issue,
please let me know.
