My other guide dog Freedom David Berry had to be retired after seven months.
As for Pilot returning phone calls, it depends on who gets the messages and when they call back.
I would try to contact them again to see what happens and when you're ready, go back for another guide dog.
Only you can make that decision as there are times when some people end up sticking with a cane which there's nothing wrong with that.
I'm still using my cane even when I drive my power chair for the time being as I felt I needed to do some refresher with it.
