Thank you for the advice. I will keep trying to get a hold of someone.
I don't think I'm going to go back to Pilot though. I want to go to a school
nearby so I can get more support and now that I learned the hard way of I
should not request specific breeds, I think Guide dogs for the blind will be
my next school.

My other guide dog Freedom David Berry had to be retired after seven months.
As for Pilot returning phone calls, it depends on who gets the messages and
when they call back.
I would try to contact them again to see what happens and when you're ready,
go back for another guide dog.
Only you can make that decision as there are times when some people end up
sticking with a cane which there's nothing wrong with that.
I'm still using my cane even when I drive my power chair for the time being
as I felt I needed to do some refresher with it.
Best wishes to you and hope that the father in the skies will help to find
you another four-legged furry partner to be with.
