[nagdu] Bad weather and class

I agree that our dogs will adapt if necessary. Even the most stubbern
dogs will do what is necessary, especially if we make it positive for
them.

My last walk home from campus with my dog who is now retired was in
the middle of an ice storm. I seriously doubt she encountered
anything of the like in training or with her puppy raisers. It was
quite dangerous to be out, but she was so steady and took it all in
stride. A couple times I slipped and had to grab onto her to keep
from falling, and though I'm sure she didn't appreciate it, she kept
me up and helped me home. All this to say that our dogs do their best
to work for us even if they don't quite know how all the time. But
sometimes they have instincts that will help them when walking on ice
or snow. Oh, and I do *not* recommend trying this out with your dogs
in an ice storm. I was stupid not to try to get a ride home, but it
was finals week, and I was working with about two hours of sleep. :)
