[nagdu] Doggie excitement?

The only thing that I might add is that whatever the consequences for the
bad behavior are, they need to be immediate , not later. Dogs don't
understand cause and effect when the effect is not directly associated with
the cause.

Maybe you could practice him approaching, and if she gets overexcited, as
Faye does about my partner, have him cross his arms and not interact with
her. If she doesn't calm down, he should turn his back until she does. If
she gets up when he turns back, rinse and repeat. As soon as she is able to
remain calm and seated, reward. Repeat as many times as needed over several
days.
Just what I remember doing with my partner, Jewel

him. Does anyone have any pointers? I have stood over her (her body laying
down, one foot on either side of her), and that seems to help, but she still
really really really wants to see him. I do see improvement every time she
knows she's not going to get what she wants (if she acts like this, she
won't get her harness off to say hi in the car, for example), but any other
advice would be helpful!
