[nagdu] Arbitrary restrictions on playing with future guide dogs

i agree.
as i said.  once you get home with your fully trained guide, it’s up to you what you do with it.
but, i agree with the schools.  everybody has these rules and, hopefully this will help more dogs be able to complete training.
we decide what sorts of things about our dogs we can handle and which things we can not.

i think that, having to speak to your dog during a dog distraction is nothing at all.  i always do that.
some dogs just flat out quit working they are so distracted.  you have to wait for the distraction to leave or drag the dog past it with heavy leash corrections.  this is not for me personally.  i would not have a dog that will quit working for any distraction.
but, i speak to my dog when she is distracted and, i also carry the leash in my right hand and am ready to use it if necessary.
not many dogs will walk by a bad dog distraction as if nothing were there.
