[nagdu] Puppy raising, taking the pup in public

When my dog is working, she's on task, but if we are with family or friends— most of whom have dogs— she's just a dog, like the rest of them, playing in the yard, or at the dog park as frequently happens when my family gets together, we do family dogpark trips.
I know that there is a possibility she could get hurt when playing. She could also get hurt working, or sitting at my feet waiting for a bus, or could become ill with something like kidney disease or cancer. I want her to have a balance between work and play.
I am a dog person and always ask my friends and family how their pets are, cats or dogs. It doesn't bother me at all if people ask about my dogs. People still ask about Laveau and Mill'E both of whom deal with cronic illnesses of one kind or another. It makes me happy that people care about them.
But everyone is different and really, that's a good thing. If a person doesn't understand why you would want people to identify with your dog, that's there deal, but this matter in particular doesn't hurt anyone. So I think it's important to respect everyone's personal choice on this issue.
