Julie, my husband grew up raising cattle. He presents a very
realistic picture of cattle raising, etc.
One of the things about human nature is this. Whenever anybody
expresses a strong viewpoint about something (as Raven does),
people tend to react. People either react positively, or not.
There are a few things that rile people up-religion, politics,
and I believe, diets. When you start getting into people's
personal space and telling folks that something isn't healthy or
whatever, people get uneasy. Most of us don't like change. I'm
probably one of those. I've been feeding Purina products since
1981. I don't feel particularly guilty about it, but when
someone writes something like "The best thing you can feed your
dog" people get a little uptight. NOW, I could say, and believe
this with all my hear' "The best thing you can do is become
Catholic". If I said that people would be up in arms. How dare
I tell people what they should believe?
I do think some people go overboard in the health stuff. But
that's their right to eat what they want. Or feed their dogs
what they want. I cringe when ow think of somebody feeding their
dog Gravy Train (ugh)! and the thought of eating deep-fried
butter is horrors to me. I think the deal is, nobody likes being
preached to. I think there's a way to share what you believe or
think about any given topic, and then there's shoving it down
people's throat. I'd be happy to get on the Purina website and
find stuff, but I'm not really out to try to convert anybody to
feeding Purina. I just will feed it myself, and my healthy
little Nova is all the proof I need. She's doing great. So
Raven, my friend, feed your dog what you choose, and the rest of
us will, too. Oh, and my cat loves his Purina 1 cat food, too.
