There are just too many unknowns.

Dog parks can be small and friendly or they can be large and unruly.  Best you can find a friendly place and worst you can find a place where people bring their aggressive dogs because they enjoy watching them go after other dogs.  

Just my two cents but I would not go to a dog park.  I like the idea of controlled play with friend's dogs etc.
