[nagdu] collars

Danielle,

Sounds like Thai and Jenny are cut from the same cloth... the Halti works for her too!

As I posted previously, I just clip her leash to the D-ring on the nylon collar, and it shares space with her leash. For some reason, that setup just acts as a reminder to her that she needs to focus. It won't prevent a scavenge if she REALLY wants something, but she's gotten loads better about that. :)

I find that corrections only stopped the undesirable behavior for the moment, not in the long term. A correction will stop my dog from sniffing but he will gladly endure a leash correction if he can still eat something off the floor. He now wears a nylon buckle collar all of the time. I also use a Halti a fair amount of the time. It primarily prevents him from scavenging and allows me to limit his sniffing; however, it is also useful when it comes to pretty much any kind of distraction and to reduce his pull when he is over excited.
