[nagdu] shepherds

Shepherds are still used a fair amount. I think that much of the hip issue
has been bred out. I am not sure whether their personalities always lend
well. I know lots have had a lot of success with them, but both of mine were
temperamental. I think the retriever types may be a little more even
tempered. This is just a guess.

I was told by my school that they stopped using shepherds for several years
because it was hard to find dogs without hip dysplasia.  They have found a
few healthy dogs so have a few to train but not many.
Luckily, I have not wanted a shepherd.  I ask for the dog that would be best
suited to me. I love dogs and all breeds of dogs.
