[nagdu] Cedarcide as Flea protection

I've been using Best Yet by Cedarcide for a few years. I think they changed
the name of the product recently though. I can't remember what the new name
is.

Anyway in that 5 or 6 or however many years I've been using it, I've found
two ticks on Monty and none on either Belle or Jetta. Monty does get to
free run near the farm pond and that place is a tick haven. I don't run
through the brush and it's not unusual for me to pick off a couple of ticks
on each visit, at least in the summer months. then I wised up and started
spraying myself too.

There doesn't seem to be a large flea problem in this area. So I don't want
to give all the credit to the preventative, when it could be that there just
aren't that many fleas in the first place. We do have a lot of mosquitos
and the Cedarcide works well on keeping them at bay.

Recently I stayed at a hotel and woke up with a number of bug bites, which I
believe were from spiders. Monty was entirely unaffected, so the cedarcide
must also work on spiders.

I have dog spa day on Sundays...usually. They get a thorough brushing, nail
trim, spot cleaning if needed, ears wiped out if needed and the cedarcide
spray. I hold onto their collar so I know exactly where their face is.
Then I spray all over the dog, avoiding the head. I rub in the spray with a
quick brisk rub down. I finish with one or two spritzes in my hands to rub
on their ears and under their chin. I don't put anything on their face.

I don't know about other products well enough to comment on their
effectiveness. And I haven't used any products besides the Cedarcide and
another similar spray product. It uses cinnamon and lemongrass, but I'm
sensitive to cinnamon so I stopped using it. For a while Jetta seemed like
she was bothered by the strong smell of the Cedarcide. Recently I've been
spending 20 to 30 minutes outside with the dogs after spraying them, so they
can air out a bit before going in the house. It seems to have solved
Jetta's slight sensitivity.

Hi Everyone,

Those of you who use Cedarcide as a Flea and Tick preventative, Who much
do you use? How often and How do you apply it? Do you find it effective?

Destiny my retired guide is extremely allergic to fleas would this work
as well as Vectra3?

Janice
