[nagdu] A blast from the past

We were doing some housecleaning, and my husband handed me something and
asked "What's this?" It was a cloth belt, with a flat loop in the middle
created by 2 rivets-the muzzle GDB used to issue every graduate! The loop
fit over the dog's muzzle, and the belt fastened around his neck, sort of
like the GL, but without the extra strap or place to attach a leash. The
instructor would carefully size it so the dog could do anything he wanted.
It's sole purpose was to comply with some state and local laws that required
even guide dogs to be muzzled on buses. I think St. Louis had such a law,
for example. I think maybe I was asked to put it on once in like 20 years.

Anyway, I thought other old-timers would be amused, and the new kids would
see how things have changed, at least a little.
