[NAGDU] ChuckIt Balls

Hello, All:

I bought Demi a package of two ChuckIt balls about a month ago. For
anyone who doesn't know, these are hollow and light-weight rubber
balls which are perfect for throwing and bouncing. They immedieantly
became Demi's favorite toys; since they are identical, one is for
backyard play, and the other is for inside play. I actually lost the
outside ball, so the inside ball is the one that has had more use. I
think that she has literally played with this ball every day since she
got it; she loves to play fetch with it, to kick it around and chase
it, to just walk around and carry it in her mouth, and to play
hide-and-seek with it. She would probably play with it all day if I
let her.

Last night, as she and I were playing with this ball together, I
noticed that her teeth have begun to puncture all the way through the
rubber, and there are two tiny holes on either side of the ball. These
are hardly noticeable at this point, but they will soon become
dangerous as it becomes more and more destroyed, if it isn't already
too dangerous for her to play with. I put her ball up on a table; she
thought I was playing a game and started searching for the ball in its
usual hiding places until I showed her that I had put it out of her
reach, and then she just stared longingly at it for awhile. It is
probably still OK for her to have heavily supervised play with her
ball, but I don't want to take any chances of her swallowing a piece
of rubber. I want to get her a new ball, but she loves that one so
much...She has two other balls which she plays with when she can't
find her ChuckIt ball, but she ignores them most of the time; one is a
heavy rubber Kong Ball for outside play, and the other is a squeaky
Kong tennis ball.

So after this long-winded explanation, here is my question: Does
anyone know of a more durable ball which may be similar to the ChuckIt
ball? I could just get her another package of ChuckIt balls like the
one I am going to need to throw out, but I don't want to be replacing
them every month...

Thank you,

Rachel
