[NAGDU] Apprentice Instructor

Aleeha and all,

I understand Sandra's comment about safety since an instructor must be able
to observe the team interaction without interfering with it. However, again,
I think it appropriate to explore alternatives to direct eye sight to do
this. As time progresses, perhaps Aira is a solution, perhaps not. There are
techniques that now exist or that can be developed. Owner-trainers may wish
to weigh in, but the issue is observing others learning to use guide dogs,
not what you do to observe your own work.

Best Regards,

Michael Hingson

I agree with Mike on this one. Sandra, I think you are discounting the many
blind people who choose to train their own dogs. How, if your thoughts are
correct, are their dogs successful, safe, working teams? Sorry, but I think
the concept of a blind guide dog instructor is not at all out of the
question and wanted to try it at one point.
