Hi Danielle, Lyn,  and all,

Danielle is correct, the new law makes retired guides exempt from restrictions like the number of pets allowed, or the weight of the dog.  

It states:

Any provision in any lease or rental agreement prohibiting maintenance of a pet or pets on or in the premises shall not be applicable to a working service or guide dog, or a retired service or guide dog, owned by a tenant who is a person with a disability.

If this is in the context of having a service dog and retired service dog, then yes because the service dog doesn't count as a pet. If you're excempt  from other pet restrictions like fees and weight limits than I believe the  retired dog would also not count toward the number of pets. Hopefully someone can say for sure though.

Hi Ginger,

Does this law supercede an apartment or condo complex that only allows a resident to have one dog? Couldn't  open your attachment. 

I can't  believe how fast time passes from my getting ready to fly to TSE last summer. Ari will be 3 years old this September. We are doing well. He's even been in protest marches! He did great in our huge Womens March this past January where our crowd was about 6,000 strong. He just thought all those people were obstacles to guide me around! He had fun with my friends there. Now we will be marching in our Pride Parade in a few weeks!
