Hi Tracy, 

I had a dog for a while that dribbled. He was on perscription drugs when he came to me. However, we changed the food and then the dribbling disappeared and he drank less. My husband‘s dog drank a lot when he came and we had to take him out an hour after feeding. However, we changed his food. He is now on cannned food and the problems have disappeared. 

I talked to my vet about the dribbling issue and she said it was very difficult to find the real cause for these behaviours, especially in males. 

As for giving notice, is there a behaviour you can catch and reward prior to him coming to you? Thanks and kind regards,
