Tracy, next week I'm traveling to the Netherlands from Alaska with my
Guide Dog. The big question is....are you staying in Ireland or visiting
Norther Ireland (UK)? Big difference. You probably can't go to Norther
Ireland (UK) as it is a non EU country. I have never needed a pet
passport for any of my Guide Dogs. I think that has something to do with
import/export issues. You do have to have a USDA (federal) vet sign off.
There are requirements for that.. As far as DOT, there are 2 forms. One
that the dog is identified ,make sure the chip is for international and
the other form says the animal will behave on the plane, no
barking, biting, peeing, and pooping. United might have their own travel
documents however. United should have a link on their web site that
takes you to those forms. I just came back from Hawaii and it is much
more complicated to travel there than the EU. Good luck. Have a great
trip. Bryan
