Greetings Federationists and Friends!

Only 3 days until we gather in Gering for our 53rd Annual National
Federation of the Blind of Nebraska State Convention! Are you ready to
Navigate the New Frontier?

Now that registration is completed, the rooms are booked and transportation
is scheduled, it's time to start your packing list! Here are a few
activities and events you'll want to plan for.

Fund-Raisers - What would a convention be without members wandering the
halls in search of people to purchase goodies?

Greater At-Large Chapter:

Purk up your day with a variety of snacks and drinks! Clif bars, frosted
animal crackers, sweet and salty trail mix or fruit snacks are sure to keep
you moving!

Lincoln Chapter:

Score some delicious Baker's Chocolates for just $5 a bag! Thirteen
different flavors are available: Scooters, milk mocha, milk chocolate, milk
mint, milk raspberry, milk peanut butter, milk coconut, milk caramel, dark
chocolate, dark mint, dark cherry, dark orange, and dark sea salt caramel.

Omaha Chapter:

Satisfy your sweet tooth with a box of theater candy! Only $3 per box or
two for $5 and your choice of Reese's Pieces, peanut M&M's, Skittles, Junior
Mints and Whoppers.

Victory Underground:

On Friday night hang out with friends and enjoy a few drinks while tapping
your toes to this great band! A cash bar will be available and tips are
encouraged!

Lucky Ducky!

During the cocktail hour of banquet purchase a lucky ducky for a buck a
duck, or 6 ducks for five bucks. A game will be played with the ducks
during banquet, and you could win a cash prize!

Get On The PAC Plan!

The Pre-Authorized Contribution (PAC) Plan has come to be an ever-more
important part of financing the movement. The PAC Plan allows members,
affiliates, chapters, and others to give a regular and automatic donation to
the Federation every month. All you have to provide is your checking or
savings account identification information. Because of the costs associated
with operating the program, the minimum donation is $5 a month and there is
no restriction on how much you donate.

PAC contributions can be made during the banquet or by contacting Barbara
Loos by phone at (402) 486-3679 or e-mail beloos50 at gmail.com
<mailto:beloos50 at gmail.com> .

Trivia and Auction:

Saturday evening items will be auctioned off during rounds of trivia. Baked
goods, gift certificates and fun items are on the list along with other
items! Cash, card, or checks will be collected during the auction so come
prepared!

Exhibit Area - Visit the exhibitors on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning
to check out a wide variety of products and services. 8 different vendors
will be on hand to meet with you. Checked out the attached list, or
download it.

I'd suggest a quick trip to the bank to load up on cash for all these
wonderful fund-raisers and vendors! An ATM is available in the Civic Center
right next to the Platte River room. You might also want to bring a little
bit larger bag to take home all your loot!

Now that your bag is packed don't forget to download the

Agenda <http://www.ne.nfb.org/2024>

And check your email for bus pick-up schedules!

See you in a few short days!

Sincerely,

Jamie K. Richey, President

The National Federation of the Blind of Nebraska knows that blindness is not
the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
