[NFB-Blind-Crafters] Needle felting

A mouse pad will not be thick enough. What I like to recommend to beginners
is to get an old pillow and use it as a mat.
I cannot comment about gloves due to the fact that there are too many
varieties of gloves. I would not wear gardener's gloves, but latex gloves
wouldn't offer much protection from pokes.
