I would recommend that you find things that interest the person and begin
there. It really depends on their ability to learn to read.

We have had some students with intellectual disabilities in some of our BELL
programs, and they have learned some braille. Just as with other children,
they learn best the things they are interested in, and there is no reason
they can't learn as much braille as they are able to absorb.

What is some advice you would give on how to teach a child with visual
Impairment and other disabilities braille? Has any taught a blind child with
down syndrome? I'm asking because I'm studying to be a para educator of
infants, toddlers, an preschoolers with visual Impairments. Sent from Yahoo

Can someone please explain UEB rules around emphasis marks - italics? I
sometimes see a dot 3 after a 4 6, is that an error, is that normal, or does
it vary?

Thanks,
Allison
