Happpy New Year's! April, I suggest using a braille display with your computer. That may be more helpful to you than trying to listen to the screen reader. I can understand speech the majority of the time and I still don't like using a screen reader because of the robotic sounds. I rarely use my computer but I plan to as soon as my Brailliant display gets back from being repaired. I use my BrailleNote apex connected to my phone with the speech muted to do most of the things I need to do such as email writing assignments with Pages for the iPhone, etc.

One of my goals for this year, is to read a Braille book. While it would seem I would appreciate the talking books, with my hearing loss, I simply cannot find the time or the energy to sit and just listen.

Dictation seems to work best in social media. As a writer I really need it to work in Pages. I also need to learn how to use Voiceover. It seems very overwhelming. The constant chatter confuses me. Perhaps there is a better way?
