Some of you guys might remember yours truly from other lists? Gera (Gerardo) from Tampico, Mexico. I’m a deafblind 43-year-old guy who loves helping others via the #ForallAccesibleElPodcast Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/6ZIYRji0rVTCil5UOeYxFS Apple Podcast https://podcasts.apple.com/mx/podcast/forall-accesible-el-podcast/id1534983814 Google Podcast https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cHM6Ly9hbmNob3IuZm0vcy8zYTM3NTk2Yy9wb2RjYXN0L3Jzcw== Overcast https://overcast.fm/itunes1534983814/forall-accesible-el-podcast’ which I launched October, as a hoby; whereas professionally I’m a Psychology major and Reiki therapists, but due to the pandemic, and also to the stereotypes regarding blindness here in Mexico, and Latinamerica, so far no reliable work. As technology evolves, I’d like to have opportunities to acquire specially a newer Braille display, which will help in all areas (be work, leisure and social). Thus I wonder if might you guys know of an organization or foundation (like Perkins Hilton) which would help in me acquiring newer technology? Sort of like you guys in the States where Rehab helps in these endeavors? I feel that my case would be justifiable. Though my family when possible helps, these kinds of technologies tend to be very expensive in Mexican pesos! Almost $40000 for at least a Chemillion20 or a Brailliant. I’d be willing to in exchange for this, maybe help out HumanWare in maybe helping translate their software or.. this way too, I’d like to promote via my podcast, the use and benefits of using a Braille display, hoping more folks here in Latinamerica might have the opportunities to at least know whats available out there.
Thanks for any info you guys might give.
