[NFB-Hams] getting licensed etc.

I’ll give the same advice I always do.

1. if you are studying for your tech, get the “arrl ham radio license manual” from NLS.
2. other manuals are also available from bookshare. some are a little out of date, but radio related physics and simple electronics hasn’t changed appreciably in 30 years.
3. study, study.
4. The ARRL has a list of testing sites. That list also contains contact information.

finally, join a local club. you will meet some good folks. I can’t count the number of good folks I’ve met in this hobby.

Also, join handy hams. They have lots of audio and online material.

Now, go to it.

But, when I hit local radio clubs that are supposed to be able to do testing, I get zero response. I've tried two different clubs, and neither one replied to my inquiry. I'd think that if this is a list for the visually impaired, there would also be resources to get folks tested, but I guess that's just me.

Sorry for the frank comments. I am willing to help, but we need the elected officers to step up. On Nov 10, 2021, at 2:20 PM, cori wills via NFB-Hams <nfb-hams at nfbnet.org> wrote:
