[NFB-InTheKitchen] NFBH Vegan Cooking Fun meeting in August, with zoom

Hello all,

I belong to the NFB in Missouri and the St. Louis chapter.  There is a lady
here, Wilma Chestnut-House who is blind and just published a cookbook called
"Messin' Around In the Kitchen."  She has a good many recipes which appear
to be vegan.  It is available from Amazon for $25.00 which includes the
book, journal for writing your own recipes and an apron.  The table of
contents is on the Amazon webpage.  She brought samples to our NFB meeting
yesterday and they were very good.  Let's support a sister on this great
endeavor.

I don't know offhand of any, but if I were looking for that, I'd look at
some of the cooking online shops, such as William 'sunoma (spelling?) and
restaurant supply online stores. If they don't have, then they probably
don't make them. That would be my guess.

Hi!  Does anybody know of a thing that we can get that will divide a
nine-by-thirteen pan's contents into twelve equal pieces?  I know there are
cake difiders and dividers for pie, but they are all round.  Thanks for any
help.  Pam.

The August NFB of Hawaii vegan cooking fun will take place on:

Date: Saturday, August 26, 2023

Time: 12 noon to 1 pm Hawaii time.

3 to 4 pm Pacific time

4 to 5 pm Mountain time

5 to 6 pm Central time

6 to 7 pm  Eastern time

Topics:  storage of fresh produce, various ways to serve kale.

If you have a favorite nonvegan recipe containing kale, please bring it and
we will help you veganize it.

For those of you who were not able to attend in July, it was a really good
meeting. Someone shared how they make soy milk and yogurt using the
Soyabella. I already bought one from amazon.

Carolyn also shared 2 recipes that sounded delicious.

And we discussed a bunch of other topics relating to eating plant based
whole food (veganism). No recording is ever made. I will share the 2 recipes
in a separate email.

Hope to see you at the next meeting coming up in a few weeks.
