Eileen,
I can't believe your first two items are definitely my most prized tools.  I 
don't know how much I paid for either one, but I have at least 3 of the 
needle gauges because I never seem to have one handy when I need it.  I keep 
one in a tote bag that has several needles and other items most used.  I 
keep one in this very large Christmas popcorn tin that holds baby sweater 
supplies as I'm working on a sweater, and lastly, I have a third gauge 
tucked away in a crafting file cabinet just in case I misplace the other 
two.  LOL
