You need to learn just 2 other things.  You need to learn how to bind  off. 
 That is putting an finished edge on  the lastrow.  If you  learn just the 
Bo[bind off] you can make scarves,hats, dish  cloths ,  afghans and there 
are probably more projects you can make.  This will keep  you going for an 
awful long time.  The last stitch and you don't have to  learn this one if you 
don't want to. is the Purl stitch.  Every knit design  is made from a 
combination of the knit and purl stitches.  You can keep  yourself busy until the 
sun doesn't shine just with the knit stitch.  So  you are more than half way 
there.  This week you will learn the bind  off.
