Welcome Dick ,
I am glad to have you here. Might you please let me know what the name of
the teacher was that referred you here. I want to send her or him a thank
you.
We are just winding up a weekly email project activity
"Summer Fun with Kids". I think that is what it was called, but please do
search back through the archives. Henrietta is the person that wrote this
up for all of us and her email is:
_gary.brewer at comcast.net_ (mailto:gary.brewer at comcast.net)
She will continue this throughout the year, but it will not be on a weekly
basis during the school time.
I will say the shaving cream event outside on the glass top picnic table
was quite a popular one for my Grand daughters.Of course ending it up with
the hose was definitely a high light too.
Terrence will be teaching the braiding in October that he has suggested
that children like to do. So you might be interested in joining us for that
class. In September we will be having a beading class that we will be
putting beads on safety pins and the beads are not those real small ones.
Theresa will be teaching that and she has kits with all the supplies included
you can purchase. That might be a project you can do with him.
Yes, I don't know how old of a child he is, so please let us know that and
we can share some projects that would be appropriate for his age.
We did have a gentleman on the list in the past that had made comment about
clean hands and not sure about doing things, but he let us know he did the
shaving creamn on a cookie sheet thingy and had great fun building things
with the shaving cream and getting his hands into it. So that might be
something that is common.
I suddenly went blind at the age of 46 so don't know about those things.
You will find a great group of folks here and they will have great ideas
for you.

We do have a Monday Night Chat and all our classes are done via telephone
conference calls. So you will learn how to explain what your hands are
doing to help your nephew to do these things. We do have some sighted folks,
but most of our teachers are blind/visually impaired and do a great job in
putting into words what the hands are doing.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate in asking or contacting
me. Blindhands at aol.com
