Terry, it is hard to say which of the tdownload them to portable devices.  I 
can also identify paper money with Kurzweil.  If I were you I would go to 
the company websites for both and see what they say about their latest 
versions.

You should check the differences between them and make your own decision. 
It seems like most of us prefer the one we learned to use first.  I have 
used Kurzweil 1000 for over 10 years and have kept it current most of the 
time but I know people who prefer Open Book.  I can scan books and 
magazines, open PDF documents, send faxes, create DAISY and MP3 files and wo 
major programs are best.

Did you purchase that knitting book?  If so, I have created an MP3 and can 
make it available to you.  Otherwise, if you want to see how a document 
sounds when it is read using synthesized speech let me know and I can create 
a different MP3 and send it to you.
