[Nfb-krafters-korner] naalbinding anyone?

What type and weight of yarn do you use for this?  If they use their  
finger to create the loop I am guessing it must be a thicker type yarn then the  
average worstered weight.  
 
I am thinking going back then they might use the fleece from animals like  
sheep and then it could be worked looser and then felted by rubbing it in 
warm  or hot water.
 
Am I anywhere in the ball park with this???
