When it comes to color, I tend to be a little Schizophrenic or maybe MPD! I
am not a purest; I love color and find there is too much to recommend each
one to be monogamous
To any one color! I am not drawn to primary colors, preferring the blends,
and then those in dusky hues.
The season, my mood and my location have a lot to do with what I gravitate
to.
I adore the beautiful pure blue of a clear sky and the turquoise/aqua colors
of the ocean and the darker marine blue of deep water. Add the tan's and
browns of the sand and vegetation at the beach and I think I am in heaven!
The electric blues, oranges and yellows of fish along a reef dazzle me. The
bruised and brooding grays of dark clouds in a rainy sky make me want to
cuddle up with a nice wine and read a good book. The warm tones of earth
and stone comfort me and are calming.
Like I said, I have a love affair with color.
I used to be a painter - my favorite medium was water color - that might
have a lot to do with my choices. Now my passion for color is reflected in
my yarn choices - however, I am unable to distinguish between certain
colors, like brown and purple, pink and yellow,, green and gray
While I can't really say I have a favorite, in a yarn store I tend to
gravitate towards purples and salmon. I pick up yarns I think are beautiful
and find out they are a different color than I had thought. . I do it so
consistently, that my friends have gotten used to it and laugh. When they
do, I just say, "Well, in my world it is."(whatever color I thought it was).
Left to my own devices, I think I would live in a truly interesting and
colorful world!
lessings,
